About Detour

A barber's kit and a barber who drives to you

Detour is one barber and one rig, built for people who cannot spare an hour at the shop.

Everything for a cut goes in the back: a chair, a cape, clippers, shears, towels and a broom. The route repeats every week, so each neighborhood has its own day and you can plan around it. Offices book a day, events book an afternoon, and households book whoever needs a cut.

What Detour is

  • One barber, one visit at a time

  • Offices, events and households

  • Chair, tools and broom come with the rig

How a visit works

From the booking to the last sweep of the floor.

  1. 01

Step 1: Pick a day and a time

Choose your neighborhood's day on the booking page, then a time. Your barber confirms by text.

  2. 02

    Step 2: The barber arrives

You get a text when the barber is on the way. Setup takes a few minutes, at a spot you choose.

    • A solid chair and an outlet nearby

    • A clear patch of floor

  3. 03

Step 3: The talk, then the cut

A short talk about your hair and what you want. Then the cut, at an easy pace, with a mirror if you like.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Cleanup and payment

The barber sweeps up and packs the rig. You pay at the end, by card or in cash.
